Fonda: Nada

As promised, I thumbed through Jane Fonda's memoir "My Life So Far" to see if she makes any reference to her vocal support of Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon (an Israeli air strike on Beirut is seen above). Checked the index -- no Beirut, no Lebanon, no Israel, no Palestinians or PLO. Flipped to the pages covering the early 80s. Nothing.
So, Beirut Jane has erased that part of her life "So Far." I don't blame her. Fonda made a lot of noise in favor of that bloody enterprise, and clearly she doesn't want to revisit the mass murder she applauded. Her choice, of course. But I would think that a celebrity writing about her life would want to either justify or apologize for supporting the deaths of over 17,000 people. That's a lot of corpses to ignore. Still, Fonda's book is filled with nice pictures and behind-the-scenes gossip about "9 To 5," among other films. I'm sure it'll do well.
